Pelicanguy

By pelicanguy

We've renamed this spring wildflower

It's known as False Solomon's Seal.It resembles the Solomon's Seal of eastern states, although on those, the flowers hang down instead of being upright. I suspect that these species belong to the same family, although I'd have to look that up. Anyhow, we decided this little beauty needs a more fitting name and call it "By the Wind Dreamer". I took this at Huckleberry Regional Botanical Preserve in Oakland, Ca.. It is a lovely day; late winter wildflowers are still blooming, and spring ones such as woodland stars, star flowers and by the wind dreamers are showing up. It was surprisingly cool and damp though.
