Roundabout No.7

I'm slowly learning the significance of some of Jeddah's fabulous artwork and plan to go out early one Friday morning before I leave to get as many pics as possible. I will certainly remember Jeddah for its colourful sculptures!

Desalination Pipes (i) derives its inspiration from the minarets of the great mosque of Samarra in Iraq. The sculptures are located at both ends of Al-Tahlia Street (shopping Mecca!), which marks the route to the desalination plant. The materials for these pipes were donated by the manufacturer of the cement and glass-reinforced plastic pipes used in the city's new water mains.
