Anonymity
This evening, Nicola and I were recognised as Methodist Local Preachers at Evening Worship in Leith Acorn YMCA. Before the service I walked around Commercial Quay, at the mouth of the Water of Leith.
I watched people heading out for a night in the bars and restaraunts nearby. I watched a fisherman casting off. And I watched this German couple pass over the iron bridge infront of the docks. The water scrambles their reflection, and ensures that they remain anonymous.
As a Christian (and more: as a preacher), I am called to reflect the image of Jesus in how I live. I hope that the reflection is clear enough that Christ's identity remains hidden from those who look.
