Where did spring go?

I got this bird feeder last year and just about managed to get it in the garden before the earth froze solid. It sits outside the kitchen window, amidst about 30 rose bushes which I think will be re-located elsewhere.

I love watching the smaller birds feeding but there's not a lot happening at the moment.
