The End!
Today, Red and I attempted to blip Tractor factory photos as he did a double blip - all by himself. We blipped him first in front of a statue and he then dashed across the park to stand in front of a big white thing. I don't know what it was, in Edinburgh in August it could be anything!
Once I had spotted someone lurking in front of the statue I called TFP's mobile number which he had emailed me and introduced myself. It's a very strange thing to introduce yourself to a virtual stranger and ask him to wave a big piece of paper at a building.
As soon as I blipped this one, which was just a wee bit tricky to do as I had great difficulty in controlling the camera, TFP then did a mad dash down stairs and through the park. At least I assume that's what he did, it certainly sounded like that over the phone.
I then attempted to see him on the second webcam angle. This was when it all went very silly. I really couldn't control that one. Partly due to the fact that Red, and Flick, and Wingpig were all looking on too. After much hilarity and disconnections I gave in and let someone, I assume it was Wingpig, drive and I attempted to take the pic. I wasn't much good at that either as you can see.
Still, we did it. And I think a couple of people wandering through the park thought they were watching a Fringe act. TFP - you should have sold tickets. Well done to you, Red and Wingpig. You all get a 5 star review from me. TFP - sorry, I didn't manage to pick up the words on your sign... you best put us all out of our misery?
So that's it then, we didn't quite make the magic No 80. In fact I don't know what we did manage but it has certainly been an experience. And it was a GREAT experience!
We did get around the globe and some of our blippers got to hook up with others on the far side of this small blue planet of ours. We had to negotiate timezones and little problems like life and work and webcams which didn't work when we needed them to. Unless you've tried this you can't really understand what all the fuss is about. It is a very strange thing to do but it is, in a very odd way, fun!
Thanks to everyone who took part and to those who followed on without really knowing why on earth we were doing it. I?m not quite sure myself really. But most of all thanks to Chick Flick. It has been a rollercoaster of a journey but worth every minute of laughter and screaming. Go have a rest girl!
