Caen Hill Locks
Today's local stroll took me along the Kennet and Avon canal towpath below Rowde, in Wiltshire, where the Caen Hill Locks are. These were the brainchild of the engineer John Rennie in the early nineteenth century, and after a period of disuse were reopened in 1990. Further restoration and maintenance is taking place at the moment.
