A trip back to Idwal cottage, camping as well! Checked with the hostel yesterday and the roads were passable and the thaw had started (well at hostel level at least). It was supposed to be K's bro and Girlfriend, however (rather sensibly I think) they cried off, we wanted to introduce them to a bit of Welsh walking. With the weather as it was probably for the best.

We were a bit late arriving so just a quick walk up round the lake above the hostel after we had pitched the tent. Firmly believe that the Youth in YHA applies to the mindset and not the age. Evening activities included lots of like minded groups cooking very competitively. We put in a fine effort with a risotto topped with griddled asparagus, however I think the prize went to the team from Quorn (yes all the way to Wales and meet someone who lives 2 miles away) with salmon en-croute, made from scratch in the hostel kitchen.
