Storyteller Series - #11 Cuticles (Close-up)
.... continuing with our now upgraded to VIRTUAL tour (because every entry on blipfoto is by definition a "visual" entry and the focus and methodology of this series goes beyond that level and is akin to a virtual tour given by online realtors).
It rained last night and was still cloudy, blustery and overcast when I realized I better take advantage of the good light and snare my daily blip.
After I took what I thought were the last blips of the front view (the lower skirt) I took a couple shots of the Storyteller's feet and the toenails.
Then I got to thinking -- do her hands have the cuticles and finger-beds just like the toes? They probably do, the bronze maker is going to make the hands as life like as he can, he won't worry if the hands are placed such that no one will look at them. HOWEVER!!!! I DID look at them!
I laid down on that recycled rubber tires and gravel composite stuff that surrounds the Storyteller and the four benches around her and saw the cuticles and thought I might as well take a photo if I am going to lay down on the ground. Then I turned myself and the camera 180 and took the shot again and LIKED it SO MUCH that I knew that it was the shot of the day - with a view of her hand, face, dress and the nearby tree as an accent.
When I cropped it I noticed the small wedge of yellow/brown circles tile. I have to find out where else that pattern is located. There is a similar one on the left sleeve, but those circles are much bigger.
I think the little odd shaped "filler" tiles are the most interesting. They have to compliment the nearby "regular" tiles, not be too bold, yet not too bland either since they are such small slivers and have to have enough character on their own to stand on their own.
I never realized when I started this series that it would turn into a real project! It isn't enough to just blip it, I need to make sure I communicate to those who can only see by means of my blips all the nuances in the views (I am just realizing some of those nuances myself)
I wonder whether tomorrow we will share the lower skirt or something else?
