Golden
A busy Monday getting back into our routine after our weekend trip to New York. As much as I love the excitement and pulse of the city, I'm happy to be back home in the country. Today was unseasonably warm (75ish F/ 24ish C), and we spent a lot of time outside...having a picnic lunch out back, playing at the playground, and observing the wildlife returning to the pond. We saw painted turtles, a green frog, mallard couples, Canada geese, and the resident beaver being harassed by the mallards. It was so nice to sit outside in the warmth and light until 7:30 p.m.
Something of a desperation blip -- a quick snap outside before dinner was all I had time for today. But at least the forsythia are in their golden prime. I can't decide if the extreme yellow of these plants is utterly obnoxious or whether it's a welcome burst of color after a long, gray winter.
