Thank Julie Andrews it's Friday

Cue the music Blippers, it's Friday and here's our lowdown on Assignment 8 - to Richard Rodgers' My Favourite Things. We apologise in advance for tenuous links a go-go. Too much sugar.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favourite things

Cream coloured ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and slaybells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favourite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winter that melts into spring
These are a few of my favourite things

When the dog bites, when the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad, I simply remember my favourite things
And then I don't feel so bad

Hmm interesting, but let's see what you offer up next week with our new theme My Room 101. Rants at the ready and remember to tag your entries 'assignment9'

Edit: Sorry folks - here's a bit more of an explanation... Room 101 stems from George Orwell's novel, '1984'. In the book, Room 101 is where you'd be sent to be subjected to your own personal nightmare. Here in the UK, there was a TV show called 'Room 101' where well-known guests would choose their most hated things to consign to Room 101, never to return. Google it if you want more info.

We also forgot to thank Beth for the suggestion - thanks Beth!
