Absorption

Being that way (absorbed) is generally good, however, much like water will not accept and absorb or dissolve salt after a certain point, the human brain can absorb only so much before it starts to repel information. When it takes more than twice to read a sentence and have it stick, that's when you know it's time for changing the reading, for changing the environment you're in, or just laying your head down, hoping the stuff that really matters will stick, and the stuff that you can stand to loose will filter out or dissolve into your blood stream while you sleep, leaving more room for more stuff to absorb tomorrow.
