Sleeping Beauty

When I was about 8 months pregnant, I went for a scan. You get them every time you go here, which suited my equally pregnant paranoia just fine. I think I would have been ill with worry with the 2 scans you get in the UK.
Anyway on that particular visit, for one fleeting moment, which neither doctor nor husband caught, I had a very clear glimpse of a human face in the misty swirls of the scan.
When i said it, they both said, "nah" in that "it's just her hormones" tone of voice. That was our first mother-daughter moment.

This was the face I saw.

I always recognise it when I watch her sleep.
