From the North

Via Karelia

I went to the Eastern Karelia for a weekend. It's been 10 long years since I visited it last time and I can hardly remember that trip. I went there via St. Petersburg this time but was too busy to take pictures of the city. This picture is taken from the Bridge of Kiviniemi (Stonespit in English). It stands near the town of Kurkijoki in Eastern Karelia. I think the seething swell underneath the bridge is one of the most memorable outlooks I've ever seen because Kurkijoki is the place where most of my roots are.
