Borage, Beloved of Bees, and Stone Thistle
Couldn't go on a Blip expedition today. I thought this would be an easy shot but hah! It still isn't right but after 20 shots, I give up. Too many bees, wasps, dogs circling about.
Borage is a native of Syria. In Tuscany it is prized for soups and to the north, in Liguria, it is mixed with ricotta for a ravioli stuffing. It has a refreshing cucumber flavour and for this reason it is also used in wine cups. Both leaves and flowers are used in salads.
This is another photograph, taken with a different camera, and added here because it has a bumble bee in it, bottom left. BEE
