Can't I get peace anywhere around here?

One of my cats Domino goes through phases as to where he likes to sleep. At the moment it is our storage area above our kitchen and if the ladder isn't there then he will miaow and look up at the doors to it until you get the ladder out for him!
He then quite happily climbs up the ladder and snoozes for hours on end. It is just a shame he isn't quite so good at getting back down the ladder by himself!
