On an impulse, I walked up to the Botanical Gardens again today. There was no sun about, so it wasn't going to be a day for big light and shadows and explosive colour so I decided to take pictures with a view to converting them to black & white or tinted shots. I got some reasonable results (using my free trial version of Apple's Aperture software), although some of them just worked better in colour.
It's funny, in the absence of beautiful light, you look for different things. I was drawn to tree bark, dying pine trees, water, more sweeping shots than usual.
