French Macaroons

Earlier this week I attempted my first French macaroons - I've heard they're the new cupcakes! They didn't look quite like the ones I've seen in shop windows in Paris but this one's the best and I thought it it looked really pretty with my tea cup.

There's a cake baking weekend in store for me which means more photos for the cake blog and possibly even for blip.
