Doha's answer to the gherkin tower

This is a lovely place to walk at night, when it is cool. There's a pleasant breeze from the sea, and everyone comes down to the corniche to stretch their legs.

On the right, you can see a golden sort of pyramid-shaped building. That's the Sheraton, where the CITES conference was held. You can see a Qatar Airways plane above it, coming in to land.

In the middle of the picture, behind the large, sort of gherkin tower, you can see a violet light, which is the top of Q-Tel tower.

Then left of centre, you can see a large hourglass-shaped building, with pink, red and purple lights. It changes colour constantly, like a sort of dynamic rainbow.
