This is a Rook....

.... (but did you know that Puffins are called Sea Parrots in East Lothian?) and how did this Rook stay looking so good after such a long hard winter? Anyway here is this character ( whether he or she I cannot tell), plump as a parrot, wild with Spring hammering through her/his veins, and flying like a banshee (do Banshees fly?) for the crazy joy of it: I love Rooks: Noisy, excitable, scruffily beautiful, chaotically sociable, always curious, competative, ever opportunitist and constantly accident prone (did you ever see an uninjured Rook?)(do they drink?): They are truly Scotland's national bird.
