Moving On...Again

I have spent most of this morning in Jen's old room, cleaning up following the incident of the jackdaw down the chimney whilst we were on holiday. Thankfully an 'eagle' eyed neighbour spotted the feathered intruder trying to leave by the closed window and alerted Sally, another star neighbour, who was feeding the cat. Sally ejected the jackdaw with the help of this week's Radio Times, but not before it had flown like a dervish through both upstairs bedrooms.

I'm not often in Jen's old room these days since she now has her own place with Pete, but they're calling in after guitar lessons today to recieve their holiday present of a ladybird and insect tower from the Eden Project. There is a possibility that Jen will be taking her drum kit away with her, and all of these events took me back to the days when her band Heatsink would rehearse in our downstairs study. Luckily we don't have any neighbours to upset on that side of the house but it was interesting being in the bath above when they were playing their own mix of indie and popular rock. There must be some scientific explanation of the effect of loud music on water.

Now Becks is in America and Jen's drum kit is leaving our now spare, soon to be second guest room..I guess it's only right that they move on..
