I am sure most people already have heard about it. For once being ahead of time made me behind time and the last one to get the news.

Russian airliner carrying Polish President Lech Kaczynski and members of military, political and church elites crashed in thick fog as it took them to a ceremony marking the 70th anniversary of the slaughter of thousands of Polish military officers by Soviet secret police. 97 dead. Katyn forest and surrounds is the place of the massacre of some 22,000 Polish officers. It was NKVD's (Soviet secret police) attempt to wipe out Poland's elite, to simply help with the destruction of the country. Now Katyn will represent even more. Horrible symbolism.
