Coal Mine

Word came today that the last 4 miners trapped in a coal mine in the southern part of my state are confirmed to have died. The flags in West Virginia fly at half staff by order of the governor and there is a somber feeling everywhere.

I feel sorry for all those who are suffering the loss of loved ones and I feel the loss of the never-will-be.

I live in a coal mining area but I've never been inside a mine. I admire the courage of those miners who go into the earth and past every chance of seeing the sun every day. I'll never be able to do it.
