Twiggy Woods
There is such a thick layer of leaf litter in the woods that it's like walking on a sponge. It's still abundantly brown in some areas but there is a definite tinge of the green variety. Chlorofil is flowing again.
If this bit of of water stays around, it will be a tremendous mosquito factory and home to hundreds of peeping frogs that fall quiet as soon as they feel the vibration of your footsteps through the ground.
As I was muttering some very mean things about maple trees in the garden today, I considered paying one of the neighborhood six year olds a penny for every maple seedling they pluck out...but what would a six year old do with such a fortune.
Last night at dinner, my neighbor told us about camel spiders in Iraq and then sent me this to freak me out even more. Holy mother of...I figure as long as I never go camping in the desert, the chance of running into one is slim to none.
