What Matters Most
Making the most of moments. THAT matters. Actions in place of self-promoting words. Reliability. Loving without regard for what you may - or may not - get in return.
I'm so grateful to have learned these lessons and to know their truth with all of my heart. They've given me the opportunity to build amazing relationships and strengthen bonds that can never, ever be taken away.
I make my living from words. But they really are just words. If you take them away, what do you have left?
I know what I have, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
I've only just realized that this man, my wonderful, amazing grandfather, has always followed these rules. His heartfelt actions and lack of self-promoting words, his reliability, his selfless love - all of these things have set a very positive example for me. I've seen this from other very important people in my life, but here is where it all begins. The trickle-down effect. My paternal grandfather was just the same way.
Good god, I've been blessed beyond comprehension when you look at it the right way. xo
