Stuck on the edge

Today I am in a dilemma. This is not the first time that the question has come to mind. Rather, the question has not left my mind. The question has always been itched in all the memories. Like being cattle embossing. Not so painful but nearly so. Sometimes the question brought solace. Sometimes more questions. I am not able to decide which side to choose. The choice is simple yet the implications are very complex. There are no straight answers. I am emotional and not wanting to make someone hurt by my choices.
