Today was a quiet day. Nick returned to work, Murron went to play at a friends house, Sam was out and about and Rowan and Katie hung out at home with me. I pottered my day away in the garden - moving plants, sowing seeds, reading on the bench in the sun and coaxing the cats away from the catnip that will never grow to any height if they continue to drape themselves all over it.

Murron slept eleven hours last night, after a very busy weekend so I was determined to get her into bed early. One story and many giggles later I came downstairs thinking my job done only to hear the familiar pad of feet on the stairs. And so it goes on (and on) and on. The light evenings are wonderful, but for Murron (in her words) 'It's like going to bed in the day time....'
