F Stopped
I had half an hour to kill today down by Salford Quays so popped into the stunning Don MCCullin exhibition. A photographer I have always admired massively. I usually behave when an exhibition says 'no photography', in fact I kind of did because i didnt shoot any of the amazing images he has taken over his career. But I just had to take a blip of this. Partly because I am publicising their exhibition on Blip, partly because I used to own a Nikon F, and partly to show what amazing risks he took to record history. The Damage on the right of the pentaprism is where a Khmer Rouge bullet hit the camera as he was using it! Makes me want to go back to film and darkroom, the depth of the tones in the prints was breathtaking.
