I think there's something in my drink...

At a party, in the middle of the night, someone accidentally knocked my earring (which was pretty loose) off my ear, so it flew through the air and landed a meter or so away (freak accident).
We both go and search for it, but no luck.
Not until I reach for my glass on the table, wanting to take a sip of my drink...
