Twelve million nematodes

Today was the day that I performed my all-time favourite task at the allotment.

Twelve million little nematode worms, to be watered into the soil, 12 million little helpers who each can infect an evil, slimy, greedy slug, causing them to stop eating and eventually die :^)

Now, I'm normally the mildest-mannered of blokes, but slugs cause a fierce rage in me, as they munch through my seedlings and eat up all my lettuce. So, I do enjoy spreading the wee nematodes around, and it really seems to work. No slugs!

I also planted some potatoes, another favourite job. Then up to cut the grass at L's house, and rake all the winter moss and thatch out of her lawn.

I'm aching already, and probably have done too much, but feeling good about having done a good day's work :)
