Rosin

This is the latest in my periodic cello-themed shots (such as Cello and Cello (reprise)).

However, for today's shot, I've decided to focus on the rosin, which is a solid block of conifer resin that is rubbed along the hair of the bow. The rosin provides the hair with the friction that is necessary in order for the bow to make a sound when it's pulled across the cello strings.

I'm so disappointed that winter has returned again. They're now predicting snow for later this week. That's just not on!
