Was It Really So Long Ago

Serving Suggestion ...

Today we enjoyed a great time at a Place called Bewiderwood - the self titled fabulous treehouse adventure. I'll soon be posting about it on my blog, so check here later.

However, the show has been stolen by food - but not just any food. This is the perfect pork pie from Bray's Cottage. Sarah Pettigree (@Brays_Cottage) is an active twitterer and I got to hear about her fabulous pies some time ago. Here follow some words from the Brays Cottage website, which I can't improve on. Do try a pie if you're in the area...

Carefully produced in North Norfolk, on a small scale, from Nell?s home-reared Saddleback rare breed pigs (with the occasional pig from a neighbour when necessary to keep production flowing). Just a touch of onion marmalade with the pork is the key. That and the fact that you can bake each one freshly as you need it so that it is at the peak of perfection when you eat it.

The taste difference:

The pies are made with the sort of meat that would normally be used for joints and chops - the good stuff. And bacon in for added depth of flavour. A touch of onion marmalade and some seasoning and there you have it. And that's it really. The perfect pork pie.

Time after time people tell us that it is the best pork pie they have ever eaten.

You can order pies ready cooked from us...

Or

(the connoisseurs choice)

Bake the perfect pork pie at home...

yum yum. Too good to be spoiled by adding anything else
