a new floor!

so many years our tax refund went to pay off credit cards.
I celebrate this year that we get to buy a new floor instead.
It's significant because it is feels like finally we are taking a step towards the family reunion in July. Every one else is working on replacing roofs, planting gardens etc. - getting ready for family in July. My girls will be here, maybe not staying at our house the whole time, but they will be here again. last reunion was 2006 and it didn't go all too well. (was complicated. We make plans and God laughs..) But this year we know how to do it better.

anyway, today we picked out, measured for and bought our new wood floor. & to protect it, we bought area rugs for the dining room and frontroom. One has a solid maroon center with green & gold border and the other green with green & gold. Since I am heading south next Friday for my two week "Grandma-cation", the floor will wait until I return. But, finally, a step towards their visit in July! :)
