Damn you Bulb mode!
So here's the only shot that came out relatively steady on this roll. I accidentally left it on bulb mode all day until this shot and oddly enough the next shot was also in bulb mode. The camera did feel funny when I was shooting, but maybe that was just the second swing of the aperture when I released the shutter. It may have a loose switch. Why I hadn't taped it over is beyond me.
Anyway, this is a nice Guy I met in the park as I was trying to finish off this test roll (a complete waste!) He stopped me and we chatted. He's a teacher, no WAS a teacher in the US I think. He also worked for the Chinese government or something. He's retired now. I think his name was Wen. We talked about all kinds of stuff, but mostly teaching and the calligraphy in the park.
So Tibet photos are next I think. I've spent the week slowly recovering from my 4 day trip back from Lhasa and working again and all that.
I had a couchsurfertoday (17/04/2010) and he was great. Manuel is a cool assistant teacher from Germany working in London. He wanted to land on the Barra airstrip (on the beach) and luckily his flights worked out even with the volcanic ash. He made it here in time for dinner, we ate, had some chat, drank a bottle of wine and head out to the local pub for a few refreshments. I haven't had anything to drink since my 1 beer in Lhasa so I was pretty tanked by bed time. I grabbed a box of crackers and a bag of chocolate raisins to fight off that drunken hunger which I'm told is actually dehydration. Awesome times and I'm looking forward to finding the doors this network will open for me.
