Sarah orange tips on thistle

These little gems make their appearance in chapparal habitats in mid Spring.
We camped at Lake Chabot last night after hiking at Mitchell Canyon. This lake, actually a reservoir is a great spot to see swans, grebes, great blue herons and other herons. We woke at dawn this morning serenaded by a wild turkey, a robin, a woodpecker and a great horned owl.
