BlipSaver v1.0

Oh you lucky people - just when you thought things couldn't get any better, the propellor heads at Blipcentral go and pull something completely new out of the bag. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, may we introduce the 'BlipSaver'...

BlipSaver is a screen saver for your Mac or PC which keeps you in touch with the Blip community whenever your computer is idle. Every few seconds, it scans the Blipfoto website for new comments (on everyone's journals) and displays them on your screen, in real time (like in the picture above). If something pops up which intrigues you, just click on the image or comment to go straight to that entry on the website. Hit any key on your keyboard to quit BlipSaver.

Once you've downloaded and decompressed the ZIP file, double click on the application called 'BlipSaver' to install it.

A few Blippers helped us test a secret early version of this (thanks, folks), which threw up a few problems. We're pretty sure we've got them all ironed out now, but if you have any difficulty, please leave a comment below.

Two things to note:

1. Bear in mind that if nobody happens to be leaving comments, the screensaver will 'stick' on the one that was left most recently.

2. There's a very slim chance this might go the way of previous good ideas and put such a strain on our poor web server that we have to switch it off. If we do, we'll let you know.
