Fancy Nancy & Pocahontas

Today...for the first time ever....all three boys had field trips! Landon got to take a tour of our local pizza parlor/grocery store/and gym. He got a little preschool workout at the gym (of course they passed out gym membership folders to the moms---smart marketing). Then he learned about the fruits/veggies in produce and got cookies from the bakery. He helped make a pizza and watched the dough thrown in the air like a frisbee. Liam's short community service field trip involved walking down to a local Headstart preschool and reading a book to a preschooler that they assigned him. He said his preschooler was telling HIM a story when he was reading to him! Then my eldest son Loren went to the University of the Pacific for our Annual 4th/5th grade Math Steeplechase Competition. Our school won!!!! His individual team didn't win this year....he brought home a huge trophy last year...but he was pleased that our school took the win!

Then I made SEVERAL pounds of meatloaf, garlic mashed potatoes and veggies in celebration of my husband's belated birthday. During cooking, my friends Kristin and Nicole stopped by to show me their costumes. They are both teachers and they dressed up as a favorite book character in honor of 'Read Across America'. Kristin was dressed as 'Fancy Nancy', all decked out in jewels and a boa. Nicole was dressed as Pocahontas. Nicole's funny story about her costume----they went out to get donuts for the school in their garb and a little old man walked up to her and said "I've always wanted to play cowboys and indians".

Another 'funny' of my day....my husband got a 'big-boy' scooter from me and his father for his birthday to match our 3 boys razor powerwing scooters. He said they looked like so much fun that he had wished they made an adult version...and voila....THEY DID!!!! It's called Slider: The Unscooter.Check out this link to it!
Sorry, honey, Fancy Nancy and Pocahontas beat you out for the blip photo! :D
