New Book
I have something to confess, I am a bookworm. Recently I have fallen out of the habit of reading but when I am in full swing as it were I have usually between 4-6 books on the go at any one time, it helps me get over the slump of finishing a book if I am already in the swing of another one.
I have always been a reader, as a child I quickly devoured the Enid Blyton stories before progressing to Mollie Hunter, Elyne Mitchell, Pullein-Thompson (all 3 of them), Ruby Ferguson etc (notice a distinctly horsey theme?). What was next? Well I moved on to my mums collection of Agatha Christie and Ngaio Marsh and I have been obsessed with crime fiction ever since. I still love re-reading Christies books, they are wonderful.
By the time I was 13-14 my older sisters were reading Jackie Collins et al (and yes I read whatever they had, saucy reading!)
I much prefer the crime stuff though. Carl Hiaasen is wonderful laugh oout loud funny when you know you really shouldn't (but there's also a lovely moral undertone which reminds me of Blyton stories, where the bad guys get whats coming to them) and Christopher Brookmyre's books have the same dark humour.
But yes back to my new book, one of these ones I meant to buy when it came out but never got round to, then thought I'd get birthday/ christmas vouchers and didn't... Anyway bought it recently and think I am going to hide myself in it later tonight.
If you like Reichs I thoroughly recommend Jefferson Bass books, its the pen name of William M Bass and Jon Jefferson (you must read Deaths Acre about the life of William M Bass, its so interesting!).
Can you believe we had snow this morning? Thats why I had to blip the lovely sun out the back this evening, only in Scotland
