Happy Birthday Michael!
Happy Birthday Michael!
Met friends at Natural History Museum then stayed for a look around. Absolutely love the Natural History Museum - and found a whole new area with the minerals and gems and planets. Charlotte loves minerals and rocks so this is right up her alley.
Could have stayed all day, but needed to go into V&A to book tickets for the Quilt Exhibition & have a quick look around for a bit before running back to Little Angel Theatre for specing out the floor plan and other fun stuff. Michael stayed with Chris (other puppeteer) for this while Charlotte and I went shopping and to get something to eat.
Then we got ready for Michael's birthday celebrations at the National Theatre Backstage Tour (where I arranged for the tour host to ensure everyone knew it was Michael's birthday to which everyone wished him a Happy birthday but we left the singing for the professionals!) The tour is fantastic - and we're not really theater goers. It was more of the technical theater (how it operates behind the scenes, etc).
We then had to rush over the bridge to get ourselves seated for War Horse - Oh My God. I was literally blown away. I purposively haven't read the book (nor Charlotte) as we are a bit worried of having an opinion prior to seeing it, so we were just in awe the whole time. The highlight was Charlotte, who clearly needs her earing checked, asking loudly - IS JOEY DEAD?! DID HE DIED? Michael's hand went right over her mouth faster than a moth to light. I, of course, just laughed. Again, a must see. I preferred it over Lion King, however, Michael didn't (although he like War Horse tremendously).
