Borong Dance
Today we ventured out in a mini bus to various places on the way to one of the few volcanoes in Bali.
Our first stop was at this Borong dance which told the story of good and evil. It was really quite cool. The dancing and music was very good for a cultural insight into the Balinese people. The next stop was at a silver works, where I brought a small charm to put on a necklace. All completely hand crafted, and we saw workers grinding the silver into place. We then stopped at an art gallery - well a person's house. The amount of paintings he had was amazing, it was one whole families work in one large room. Back inot the minivan and we saw alot of the country side which was pretty much house and rice paddies.
We finally hit the volcano, which was packed with people selling tshirts and souvniers. We had a short lunch and took som epictures. This is when about 8 Javanese teenagers came up to me asking for a picture !! I was amazed. I was the first white person with blonde hair they'd talked to. Was rather amazing.
