Oxalis

I saw this wood sorrel (aka Oxalis) bursting through the leaf litter. I love the prefect shape of all the leaves folded like tiny umbrellas.
I like the taste too: they contain Oxalic acid (hence the name) which is also found in rhubarb and green apple skins, so you'll have an idea of how they taste.
Very refreshing on a woodland walk.

I had to fight the dog off while taking this.
She is of the firm conviction the only reason anyone bends down is for a good ear lick.
