Pajarinmäki

A view from Pajarinmäki towards Lake Hyypii.

Pajarinmäki was named after "Paha Pajari" ("Evil Boyar"), a local legend, who, according to folklore rode a boat down the hill to Lake Hyypii (over round diagonal logs) and forced naked young girls/women to pull him and the boat back on the top of the hill - among other things. Wonderful guy, eh?
There is also a narrow cape called Pajarinniemi ("Boyar's Cape"), where he was supposedly killed by locals who buried him and his horse under a pile of rocks. The pile can be found on the cape.

I know the picture is gray but so was the weather, so the coloured pics didn't come out much more cheery...
