An interesting day

At short notice I had to head over to Islay for a meeting. Got the 10am ferry this morning and was the only car along with a jeep and a lorry. In total there were 5 passengers and would you believe 6polis! If you look at the picture of the almost empty ferry car deck you will see one of strathclydes finest with a sniffer dog which had just sniffed my car , the one in front and now the lorry. Its just as well I planked my stash of lamb chops! There were other cops as you can see on the car deck. Indeed when the ferry docked earlier there were 4 burly coppers waiting to escort a wee bachle of a bloke off into their van.

I heard later on the local island grapevine that this may have been a rehersal for if a certain politician becomes PM as his rellies have an estate on the neighbouring island! Interesting.Don't you just love islanders how they can circumvente the best of security, it was the same when Princess Ann used to come to the boatyard where my son worked, everyone knew she was coming but no on bothered!

The only other wuman on the ferry had obviously got up early and was in the process of applying her make up. though I am female, I have never in my entire life worn make up! so I was intrigued to watch just how many diffirent brushes she was using, she applied one layer then another, then some lippy then some eye liner and eye shadow. Not content with doing all that,, she then began putting on false nails! fascinating! and half an hour after that, she began biting her nails, I know Calmac's food isnt up to much but yuk!

Had a very good meeting and finished just in time to catch the return ferry, it was a little more busy with the couple who sat next to me turning out to be Australians, the bloke had the exact same ring as mine and asked me where I got it, I told him a friend made it, he said he bought his in Orkney but I told him it was still my friend that made it as he supplies that ring to jewllers all over the place, he was quite tickled at this. We got talking and it turns out just the day before they had visited a cemetary in Kilberry which we had visited just a few hours later! spooky or what.

Anyhows Im back home and relaxing in front of my big roaring fire as its still cold
