Deadwood

Backblip!

Camping at Glenmore in the Cairngorms this weekend. We had intended to walk the Kincardine ridge this weekend but Angela twisted her knee on the Friday night. We decided on a less strenuous day and walked the old logging way into the Highland horror that is Aviemore. I blipped this old, dead tree standing like a lone sentinel in the peat bog.

Pit stop for lunch at cafe Mambo and then we walked back on a meandering route through Rothiemurchus forest back up to Loch Morlich and the campsite.

Many hours later we got back to the tent and I determined we had walked almost 14 miles (22km). It wasn't less strenuous after all but at least Angela's knee held out. Had a relaxing evening with a curry and some cold Pear ciders. Mmmm..

The next morning we woke up to snow on the tent and heavy flakes in the sky. Winter is certainly taking its time to leave us this Year.
