Grand Bazaar Tiles

just finished laying the tiles gypsy girl bought for me in the grand bazaar in istanbul last february. a couple of years ago gypsy girl and i tiled ones we bought in granada.

missing my children.

gypsy girl has been in se asia for five months, three of which were on her bicycle exploring cambodia and vietnam. i was very worried because most of the time she was traveling by herself and when not in a city, depending on the kindness of someone to put her up for the night. now she is with some of her ngo friends in battembang volunteering. she has been gone for sixteen months traveling. it has been 13 since we have seen her, but we communicate many times a week via skype and gmail.

she is heading back to istanbul in june and we should be able to see her when we come to turkey for the birth of our first grandbaby in october!!!!

it has been hard to let my babies go. no choice, they are both such pioneers. our son has given us a daughter-in-law and now she will add a grandbaby. we keep growing--just too spread out for me sometimes.
