Bindi Irwin Apocalypse Jam*

J has a an old wide angle lens that really washes out colour and captures blue sky as white. He'd bought a new polarising filter to try and rectify the problem, so we went for a wander in the newly opened Guilfoyle Volcano part of the Botanic Gardens to test it out. Works a treat, and really saves the lens. Will be great for landscape shots in the Kimberley later in the year.

I took the zoom lens down for a few close-ups, and ended up regretting not having a wider lens as the view of the city from the 'volcano' are pretty cool. Another time. In the mean time, there were quite a few dragonflies out...

Watching the ANZAC day footy match on TV and waiting around for a patient to arrive at the hospital that I'll have to go in and see. Could take a while to sort out, but hopefully I'll be home in time for J's lamb curry and a visit from R, L and V.

*In other news, it is a bit of a national pastime to poke fun at poor old Bindi Irwin. I do quite like this little bit of genius from Dan Kelly, the support to Paul Dempsey last night. Woooweee, Bindi and me....
