work shoes

I don't think I've ever mentioned my job on blip. I'm what is known in some quarters as a 'blue-collar' accountant, and these are my work shoes. I work for a paper mill in a village on the outskirts of Bath (no cameras allowed!) and I'm obliged to wander off into the mill often enough that it's just as easy for me to wear these tattered old steel toe-capped shoes all the time.

I'm not hugely ambitious workwise. If I were I would have at least tried to climb a few rungs up the professional ladder. But I enjoy working with numbers, for better or worse, and I like working in a place where something is made. A head-office job would drive me around the twist.
