Baku Street - bird's eye view.

Azerbaijan has a nice line in ornate metal work - on chimneys and domes (seen here), drain pipes and gutters - we have some good examples on our house. There are much more impressive examples in the countryside. I haven't seen it anywhere else in the world, but it reminds me a bit of the clay decorations (houses and churches) that you find on the apex of roofs in Peru. This is a pretty typical street in downtown Baku seen from the Landmark building.
