Hydrangea

I know, I know. A flower. The purists scoff. I understand. Such an easy, sentimental shot. I agree.

But I love flowers. They're just a moment of beauty, of sweetness and kindness, regardless of their setting or lighting.

I took this quickly while I waited for The Missus to go for a walk today. I saw the flower, the leaf and wondered if it was possible to capture it in the sun against the black background of shade behind it. I kneeled. Clicked. And away we went for the walk.

We spent much of the walk talking and...blipping as I hadn't put one up for the past few days. So, there I am, ponderning and belaboring some shots and angles and repititions...only to find the simplest shot inspired me the most.
