New favourite pub

So we were looking around tonight for anywhere that wasn't the Standing Order for Wednesday Booze.

Started off in the Guildford arms, but they seem to have some plumbing issues, smelling a bit pooey. I normally really like it there, but it did whiff somewhat.

From there we moved on to the Abbotsford on Rose Street, which I always thought would be a total tourist trap. Fortunately, it was excellent, beyond my expectations. Good beer, quiet enough to talk to my companions, very wooden, and the promise of food (though we didn't order any, probably cos we were still getting over the shock of non-Standing Order prices). Rxs was particularly enamoured by the unique hand-driers in the lavs. Esme had nothing in particular to say about he place though. Pah! What does she know?
