Make Way for Ducklings
I saw these little ducklings in the park yesterday afternoon, but couldn't get a blip because they were hiding under some shrubs. This morning I spotted them again, and this time I got quite a few blips because they...all 12 or 13 of them...were out for a swim with their momma. They reminded me of the story Make Way for Ducklings by Robert McCloskey in which the momma duck is trying to raise her little family in the public garden in Boston. I think someone (maybe Distracted Hausfrau) posted a blip about this in the past. Maybe someone can provide us with a link. Anyway, it is a great story for children, a real classic, so if you have children or grandchildren who haven't seen this wonderful picture book yet, I hope you will find a copy and share it with them.
UPDATE on the problem with my memory card that my computer refused to recognize: I contacted the Nikon help desk and they suggested I try to upload the pictures by attaching my D90 directly to the computer's USB port. That works. It doesn't only upload the pictures, it automatically opens my Photoshop Elements program and puts the pictures directly into the correct folder. And it does it quickly. Amazing! However, I am still left wondering why the memory card I formatted for my D40 works fine in my computer's card reader while the memory card I formatted in my D90 not only won't download through the card reader, but causes my computer to freeze up. I don't know why that happens, and I want to know!
That's all for tonight from the north coast of Ohio. 'Night, Blippers!
